STI now offers a new “Baseball Home Plate Mat” for batting cages, water parks, soccer fields, coaching boxes, dug out areas and playground areas.
Baseball Home Plate Mat is a 6’ x 12’ mat made of tufted Athletic Turf 5m. It has a pile height of 7/16” (tufted) and a pile weight of 32 oz. sq. yd. The primary backing is a stabilized woven polypropylene. We have attached 5mm urethane cushion.
On the home plate mat, there is a batter’s box on each side of the plate. The white batter box lines are made of AT5M and are tufted in, not painted. The home plate is made of straight polypropylene, 5700 denier yarn and is inserted into the mat with Nordot 34 G adhesive.

The mat can be installed directly over concrete or asphalt. STI can install in the backyard or ball field by removing sod and an additional 2” of topsoil and putting down 4” of crushed limestone, grade and compact. Mat secured with sod staples. Price range for installation is $10 - $15 p/sq-ft depending upon travel, accessibility to area and existing condition of area (if sod needs to be removed and disposed of, mulch or rock removal).
